…we loue thee, o yahawah, our strength.
yahawah is our rocke, and our fortresse, and our deliuerer: our power, our strength in whome we do trust, our buckler, and the horne of our saluation, and our high tower.
we call vpon yahawah, who is worthy to be praised: so we are saued from our enemies.
The sorrowes of death seem to compasse us, and the floods of vngodly men made us afraid.
The sorrowes of hell seem to compasse us about: the snares of death seem to preuent us.
In our seeming distresse we call vpon yahawah, and cryed vnto our power: hee heard our voyce out of his temple, and our crie came before him, euen into his eares.
Then the earth shooke and trembled; the foundations also of the hilles mooued and were shaken, because hee was wroth.
There went vp a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth deuoured, coales were kindled by it.
He bowed the heauens also, and came downe: and darkenesse was vnder his feet.
And he rode vpon a cherub, and did flie: yea he did flie vpon the wings of the wind.
He made darkenes his secret place: his pauilion round about him, were darke waters, and thicke cloudes of the skies.
At the brightnes that was before him his thicke clouds passed, haile stones and coales of fire.
yahawah also thundered in the heauens, and the highest gaue his voyce; hailestones and coales of fire.
Yea, he sent out his arrowes, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.
Then the chanels of waters were seene, and the foundations of the world were discouered: at thy rebuke, o yahawah, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
He sent from aboue, he tooke us, he drew us out of many waters.
He deliueres us from our seemingly strong enemie, and from them which seem to hate me: for they appear too strong for us.
They seem to preuent us in the day of our calamitie: but yahawah is our stay.
He brings us forth also into a large place: he deliuers us, because he delights in us.
yahawah rewards us according to our righteousnesse, according to the cleannesse of our hands hath hee recompensed us.
For we haue kept the wayes of yahawah, and haue not wickedly departed from our power.
For all his iudgements were before us, and we did not put away his statutes from us.
we are also vpright before him: and we keep our selfe from iniquity.
Therefore hath yahawah recompensed us according to our righteousnesse, according to the cleannesse of our hands in his eye-sight.
With the mercifull thou wilt shew thy selfe mercifull, with an vpright man thou wilt shew thy selfe vpright.
With the pure thou wilt shewe thy selfe pure, and with the froward thou wilt shew thy selfe froward.
For thou wilt saue the afflicted people: but wilt bring downe high lookes.
For thou wilt light our candle: yahawah our power will enlighten our apparent darkenesse.
For by thee we haue run through a troupe? and by our power haue we leaped ouer a wall.
As for our power, his way is perfect: the word of yahawah is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
For who is power saue yahawah? or who is a rocke saue our power?
It is our power that girdeth us with strength, and maketh our way perfect.
Hee maketh our feete like hindes feete, and setteth us vpon our high places.
He teacheth our hands to warre, so that a bow of steele is broken by our armes.
Thou hast also giuen us the shield of thy saluation: and thy right hand hath holden us vp, and thy gentlenesse hath made us great.
Thou hast enlarged our steppes vnder us; that our feete did not slippe.
we haue pursued our seeming enemies, and ouertaken them: neither did we turne againe till they are consumed.
we haue wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen vnder our feete.
For thou hast girded us with strength vnto the battell: thou hast subdued vnder us, those that rose vp against us.
Thou hast also giuen us the neckes of our enemies: that we might destroy them that seem to hate us.
They cried, but there was none to saue them: euen vnto the yahawah, but he answered them not.
Then did we beate them small as the dust before the winde: we did cast them out, as the dirt in the streetes.
Thou hast deliuered us from the striuings of the people, and thou hast made us the head of the heathen: a people whom we haue not knowen, shall serue us.
As soone as they heare of us, they shall obey us: the strangers shall submit themselues vnto us.
The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.
yahawah liueth, and blessed be our rocke: and let the power of our saluation be exalted.
It is our power that auengeth us, and subdueth the people vnder us.
He deliuereth us from our seeming enemies: yea thou liftest us vp aboue those that seemingly rise vp against us; thou hast deliuered us from the violent man.
Therfore will we giue thankes vnto thee, (o yahawah) among the heathen: and sing prayses vnto thy name.
Great deliuerance giueth he to his king: and sheweth mercy to his annointed, to Dauid, and to us, his seede for euermore.
